If a member wants to write an honest "Hello" post, there is no reason not to. It makes people feel more at ease, and it allows them to easily find other members with similar interests in their projects. The thread title says "Greetings and Salutations" so if that type of subject bothers you, don't open it!

The only thing that I would change about this is moving this topic to Website Discussion, which I am doing.
