What is known is that it will fire five shots, but after the five shots are fired, a significant delay in reloading, even slower than a revolutionary war muzzleloader. You must send the upper unit back to the factory for reloading!

I think the picture to this post is interesting, but I don't see how it would have advantages over just compressed air pushing the projectile as opposed to air pressing water pushing the projectile because the air would be moving the weight of the water and the projectile.

@JSR when I looked at that H&K I thought it was one of those firestorm weapons where the barrels are loaded like roman candles and the shots are fired electronically. Now that's a cool/simple concept!!! probably won't believe me but I had that idea before I saw "firestorm"

I know this threads kind of chewed up but I was remembering a bullet design that would probably work or could be modified for underwater use (however it is fired).

It's a concept based on a bullet I read about called a "cookie cutter" I think.

It was a sort of saboted round with a hollow bullet. It's different from a hollow point because it's hollow all the way through and not designed to expand but to cut through stuff. I believe they were made out of copper and had a type of sabot in the back just to hold pressure on firing.

Looked pretty worthless.But a similar design may be useful in underwater use whatever it's fired from. But would probably be more useful underwater if it was heavier (maybe like a pipe size with the inside edge of the nose sharpened and fins or funnel shape inside).

I think to get distance underwater, you should justhave one hell of an heavy, saboted, small diameter round to punch trough the water.

Actually, for those of you who didn't take the time to read the information given to you, The soviets used long dart like projectiles. They have low drag and incredible mass for their frontal surface area, quite similar to that of the SCTBDC's "center punch" ammo shot through the steel.
