You could also choose the cheap-ass solution of simply flattening the pipe and welding it shut.
I am not sure how this will affect the pipe's strength though.
Even if some of the chamber volume is lost this way, you still have enough anyways.

i think you would need a bit more than a hammer to flatten 10 inch pipe an it would be weak as hell

You could also try to find some type of pressure vessel with rounded ends and cut it up.

Of course, if you found a pressure vessel large enough to hack up for these purposes.... Why not just use that pressure vessel?
