I know I know, ball valves are nasty but it is my first spud gun and I just want to see if I like it first b4 I get a better valve.
Ok I have a large ball valve for my first spud gun it is 1 1/2 inches and it is really really stiff making it hard to let all the air out at once, i have tried lube but it is so tight that the lube cant even get behind the ball it just scrapes the lube onto the edges of the tube.
It stills works but its just extremely stiff, so if you guys have any ideas on how to loosen it up that would be great thanks!.
Also one other question, what is a safe psi for my SCH40 tank, it is rated to 220 PSI but what is a good safe psi. My tank is 2 feet long. Im thinking of 60-80 is pretty safe for a good launch.

use it more or add a small cheater bar for a little extra leverage. your tank may be rated to 220PSI, but 100PSI is the safe maximum most spudders go by, seeing as you have a non pressure rated part i wouldnt go past around 60, if you can, replace that fitting.
that reducer is not pressure rated, if you look on it it will say NSF-DWV you want to avoid that marking unless you're making a combustion, in which case its fine.
now if you look on your endcap you should see the marking NSF-PW which is the mark you want to see on fittings you use that means the fitting is pressure rated.
also try to tap your schrader valve and gauge through 2 walls of pipe (where the fitting and pipe overlap) for extra strength.
and you did glue the barrel in place right? because from your pics it looks like you just took the barrel off and there isnt a threaded joint there for you to have done that

ya im gonna glue the barrel on with the pvc cement =) it would be bad to have it fly off hehe.

use a coupling and a reducing bushing (witch are both pressure rated)

and yes 60 psi should be save for DWV...since a porpane powered combustion gun reach about 60 psi
