Australian fittings + propane = ?

Gday chums

i have a propane cylinder sitting in the shed right now needing a home and i was wondering if i could use it on my cannon

because im not sure if i can use it on Aussie DWV or what not. cos i have noticed my fittings are different from the ones you American blokes use.

IMHO i wouldnt use propane in dwv at all, but many do so thats up to them.

i belive our pipe standards are better than the US so you should be good mate.

You should be OK to go with metered propane in your little beauty. However, the rear cap is the only thing that would concern me a tad. Is there another type cap that's pressure rated that you could screw on there? Any time you see flat boundries like that you have to be a little concerned.

If it were a pneumatic, I would say no way. Have you figured out how you want to meter and inject the fuel?

tha rear cap is the only thing i have seen in 90mm, i cant find 90mm pressure rated parts and i have been to heaps of different stores.
i could just cut the whole section off and replace it with a bell reducer. then have a ball valve in that.

cos im only really interested in metering so that i don't have to "pray"

Properly metered propane will be more energetic and more consistent than your aerosol. It's time to be thinking about it...
