Using a 4500psi 45Cu.In tank?
Is there a way to use a 4500psi paintball tank as the air chamber for a cannon? I was browsing the site and noticed with a QEV it would work but they seem like the volume of air they would put out is only good enough for small projectiles. Maybe im wrong though.

You can use it as a primary chamber, but a pin valve has far too little flow to allow the tank to be used as a firing chamber. You would need to drill out the mouth of the cylinder and even then you're limited to 1/2" or so.
What sort of caliber and performance were you aiming for?

That makes sense. Thanks for the info.
I was looking to use a 2 inch barrel to shoot standard issue produce and such. My main thing with the pneumatic I built was the length of time it took to fill the chamber with the compressor I was using. It was a standard 12v cigarette lighter compressor and the chamber is 4"dia by 2.5 feet. Works great with a big shop compressor!
I had thought if there was a way I could use the paintball tank it might be better but now looking at what you said it seems to be terrible idea.

Nothing wrong with using a cheap low pressure reg to fill it up instead of the shítty 12V compressor
I would put a safety pop-off on the chamber just in case.

Surely it's and investment one could slip under the radar at these prices.
