This is going to be the breech loading system for my next paintball rifle. It would use 1" long pieces of SDR 13.5 with a paintball and wadding inside it.
As I said in the picture, I have steel pipe that fit even better in SDR 13.5 than paintballs do. In the picture it's in the loading stage. You would pop a shell into the breech, push the handle so the pipe goes through the shell and pushes the paintball into the barrel. Then you shoot, air goes through the steel pipe and pushes the paintball out the barrel. Then pull back the handle so the pipe goes back out the shell, which is now empty. Take the shell out of the breech and it's ready to load again.
I will probably develope this system for a semi auto but I am definately going to make a huge like 20 gallon air tank that will hook up to the gun for the fastest rate of fire possible. I also might sleeve the backside of the 1" in 1.25" so that I can drill through the 1" and add springs so the shell pops out like in a .22 rifle.
Enjoy!
EDIT: Another Picture of what's happening, in case no one's responding due to the fact that they don't understand.
Breech Loading Shells
Thank you! After 2 days of a sitting topic..
Anyways, dungdue0, post a pic of yours, I'd like to see how it came out. I haven't made mine yet so I don't know how far the shell will eject.
Schmanman, I'm not completely sure of the OD of the steel but it's a better fit than a paintball is (the ID of SDR 13.5 is .696) so I'm guessing the steel is .69.
Dinsdale, I have o-rings drawn in the diagrams, I may or may not use them.

Ok, here is boltsniper's bolt. It is on the left, the AR15 bolt is on the right. Notice the similarities.

His was built perfectly, no design flaws or nothing. Mine, on the other hand, had to be built twice. The first one broke after hiting the barrel to hard. So I made a new better one.

I had to put a stronge spring behind the extractor peice. It was very hard because the sprin had to be very small in order to fit. But I can get a shell to fling a good foot out of the bolt. I am using some heavy shelld though. If you have something small and light it would go further.
