They are used to by things from the shop, such as signature rights and custom titles.
And Sgorts.

Edit: I guess I shouldn't have even said that. sorry MrCrowley ;)

I've only just realised tonight when I went to add a sig. that it's for use in the SF shop. I thought by shop people were referring to BCArns.
