I just started working on a cannon again that I have had the materials for, just never built it. Its just a basic pneumatic. I have a 3" chamber going into 1" elbows to a 1" sprinkler valve. My problem is finding a way to get from 3" to 1" using all nsf-pw parts.

Can I use this part from mcmaster
Part Number: 4880K517

If i cant use that, what can I?

Thanks

Can't you just use a coupling with a reducer bushing inside?

Yes, that's fine to use. If you don't want to order online, you can go with a 3" x 2" bushing, then a 2" x 1" one.

BigJon, don't post unless you know what you're talking about. That is a reducer bushing.

If it's a combustion, you'll be fine. If it's pneumatic, all of your fittings need to say nsf-PW.

Its pneumatic, none of my local stores have 3" reducers/bushings (home depot, lowes, ace hardware). So will that fitting from mcmaster be nsf-pw, I'm not sure how to tell from their description.

It should be fine, you can ask other people who have ordered from McMaster. I refuse to order from there because they don't say how much shipping will cost.

I asked mcmaster and got an e-mail back saying that plastic fittings are not pressure rated. So I'm kinda lost now. Can someone help me find a way to get from 3" to 1" using nsf-pw parts?

I just found this on sprinkler.com

Sch 40 Fittings-
Schedule 40 (Sch 40) fittings are rated on wall thickness. Do to this fact the pressure ratings for the size of fittings will vary. The pressure ratings are as follows:

Fittings Size Pressure Rating
1/2" Sch 40 Fittings 600 psi
3/4" Sch 40 Fittings 480 psi
1" Sch 40 Fittings 450 psi
1 1/4" Sch 40 Fittings 370 psi
1 1/2" Sch 40 Fittings 330 psi
2" Sch 40 Fittings 280 psi
2 1/2" Sch 40 Fittings 300 psi
3" Sch 40 Fittings 260 psi
4" Sch 40 Fittings 220 psi
6" Sch 40 Fittings 180 psi
8" Sch 40 Fittings 160 psi
10" Sch 40 Fittings 140 psi
12" Sch 40 Fittings 130 psi

so it seems like the park from mcmaster will be fine

Mcmasters fittings ARE pressure rated. I have ordered from them many times and they are all fine. They say nsf-pw so it's fine to use. And noname they're shipping prices are really quite reasonable and usually mine comes within 2 days.
