I was hoping of making a sniper rifle where the ball valve also acts as the main loading port (is that the correct term?) anyways, i was looking at some diagrams on wikipedia and it seems that they dont make any valves where, when they are closed, they are shut off to all air flow except for the top "loading port". I was wondering if there was any valve that worked like this.

yea, lots of people have done it, just drill a hole in the side of the ball valve. have fun doing that with a metal ball valve however..can you say cutting oil?

I would preffer to make/use a breech load over this idea... A breech load would save the need to drill a hole in the valve Smile

Here is a nice bolt action design. Wink

It's doable
I used a Apollo 3w ball v with a l shaped porting .
http://www.conbraco.com/products/products.asp?sub=16.
replaced the ball with one from a regular Apollo ball valve .

You'll need a torch to heat the thread sealent on the valve, at least 2 decent sized pipe wrenches or better yet a securely mounted vice w 1 pipe wrench.

my magazine tube pressurizes so you might want to plan for that w/ a cap or valve
Before I used heat I mangled 2-3 old valves ,,,practiceing on old valves would be a good plan for your first time .
(20-30-dollars for a 3w 3/4" valve where I got mine)

If I can find my crappy camera I'll post pics.
