Seems like you got off pretty well.
A good enough scare to keep you safe next time, no matter how rushed you are...and you get to keep all fingers and they still work!
get well soon and be more careful in the future!

My friend has a VERY similar scar from a VERY similar knife. He is a future bassoon major, and therefor requires precise movement of both thumbs.
Long story short, we were at a crappy party in someone's garage. It was a costume party, and someone had a (sharp) knife as part of the costume. Someone decided it would be fun to play fruit ninja. My friend threw the pizza, and someone else swung the knife and missed the pizza.
He reacted VERY differently from you. As soon as he saw it (down to the bone), he went into deep shock, yelled a lot, and threw up. His panic induced panic in everyone else, and they called 911. He ended up going to the hospital in an ambulance. I got to call his dad, (the employer of him, the cutter, and myself), and made the mistake of letting him talk to his girlfriend, who he freaked the hell out of.
After the bandage came off, we started joking about it, making comics etc.
