Hey guys, well I am very new to spud guns but at the moment I am making a gun that is based on the m40a3 sniper rifle.
I have run into a problem in design I would love to make my gun semi automatic except I cannot find a tutorial anywhere to help me, so if you guys can help I would be VERY grateful.
I can understand I don't have much respect on this forum but all help will be appreciated

thanks in advance
-Paul

Jsr. has good blow forward bolt design you could probably use, I have made one for .177 bbs and it works well. What calibre is your rifle going to be.

Ah I am looking at .22 but if I can get a good loading system i can always change, actually now that i think about it .177 would probably be better...

also what is JSR? it is probably obvious but I'm new

If you don't want to deal with a pressure powered bolt/reloading mechanism, you can wire up a solenoid that could pull open and close the bolt with the push of a button or with some more complicated circuitry, completely semi-auto. I am using this method on a new cannon I am building.

JSR is a mythical creature who lives in an epoxy cave spending countless hours in an epoxyfume and alcohol induced stupor daydreaming of winning the nobel peace prize for his creation of a full auto blow forward bolt APFSDS firing antitank pistol that's only a 4mm bore and constructed entirely of 2 part epoxies...

How complicated would this be? Because I dont want to have to wire something that i cant change later

haha jsr is short for jackssmirkingrevenge, he is a builder somewhere in europe who normally builds small scale one off prototypes made almost entirely of epoxy. here is one of his protypes that uses a blowforward bolt, you could use his diagrams and apply them to your own skills and materials.

One of my personal favourite semi-auto constructions on this website is this. Another impressive semi-automatic gun is this one. While the concepts are relatively simple, for your first pneumatic it should be quite difficult without adequate tools and experience. I learn't this the hard way . I would recommend starting small and just building up to the semi-auto league - but if your up for it, go right ahead and try :D

yea i am the type to persist, man this looks rather complicated though, and in my designs this would not fit, I will upload some designs tonight and have a look at what we can do. Thanks guys :D
