Here is my new valve. It is housed in a 50mm tee (2") and has a 40mm (1.5") porting. It utilizes a solid nylon piston spun on a lathe. The back is removable, via six screws. I am thinking of marketing this valve, but I want to here from you guys first. pricing would be about £30-£35 ($50-$60).

Is that a DWV Tee?
Might want to do some flow tests before thinking of selling it. There are already several valves on the market with very good flow specs.

Yeh, Tee looks nasty.
Probably not, it would need to do something fancy or be able to prove we couldn't make this ourselves.

Well the tee was under the pressure section... I don't mean this to be a legendary valve. I was just going to sell it for a low price (that can go lower) for people that cant get them to work. Thats all.

Fair enough.
Be very careful, the shape of that tee is screaming DWV, it's near certain.
To be honest, the thing that will sell things the best is videos and damage pictures.
Also, if you want to sell them here you will need to discuss it with Pcguy and the sponsors.
Nice work though, but be wary of the tee.

I understand, but I need a bit more cash so I can get a chamber and fill setup.
Thanks for all the comments!
P.S, In the marketed version, I will buy a tee rated to 16bar, this one is only rated to 8bar.
EDIT: yeah, im not going to sell it here. i will host it on my website.

If the fitting dose have a rating of 8Bar then then it is ok, just have to remember that is the pressure limit of the valve. The tee just looked like an unrated DWV ( drain, waste and vent) fitting, hence the reaction you gotJogumpie wrote:

DWV fittings:
Identifying pressure rated PVC
You can see why we had concern..
Though if it's rated, all the better! Shall be good to see some action

Well most of the guys on the forum know how to make piston valves and can do it cheaper than buying one. The people that tend to buy pre fabricated valves are generaly people who do not have the knowledge or tools to make one.Jogumpie wrote:yeah, i understand. thanks for the warnings guys! so if the price was $35, would you buy it?

Agreed, it's a bit tricky as it's an intermediate market - those who want to make a launcher this size can probably make their own valve, while those who want to fork out would probably be more inclined to buy a complete launcher.SubsonicSpud wrote:Well most of the guys on the forum know how to make piston valves and can do it cheaper than buying one. How about "Zerstörer", bit more catchy and German sounds more aggressive
