If I did my math right, and I'm pretty sure I did, that white thing will only hold about 80 PSI. That's a little over 5 ATM. It would probably not be too good for a hybrid.
EDIT: No, I realize I did something wrong. Can't figure out what.
Oh screw it, I haven't got a clue. I never use Newtons.

Oh good, I was feeling like an idiot there for a minute.SpudBlaster15 wrote:No paaiyan, you did your Math correctly. The container can hold about 87psi. It should not be used as a hybrid chamber.
The fire extinguisher is a much better bet. A 2kg fire extinguisher has a burst pressure close to 1000psi.

Okay, thanks !
So to make my Hybrid Spudgun, I will use :
Chamber : fire extinguisher 2kg.
Barrel : steel pipe ø5cm (=1.96850 inches) to launch golf-balls.
Ignition : 300kV stun-gun (multi sparks).
Burst disk system.
To fix the barrel to the chamber, how must I make ? What kind of soldering must i do ? brazing or welding ? I need a very strong and resistant to pressure Spudgun

I haven't acheive to find how has he soldered the barrel to the chamber (extinguisher), if someone can tell me more about that... (sorry, i have great difficulties to understand a entire page of text^^).

That looks like he just cut off the end of the extinguisher and welded the pipe directly on to it. I'm not much of a welder myself, so I couldn't tell you how he did it, but that's what it looks like.

the stinger was my cannon.
yes thats what i did. it was a firefighters oxygen tank. you can just unsrew the regulator and then weld on pipe if it is made of the same metal. on my cannon i also opened up the hole to the inside diameter of the pipe which was 2 inches or 50.8 mm. depending on what type of threads you may be able to just srew in pipe if the port size is large enough for you.
kornino if you have any other questions about my design or building processes, feel free to pm me any questions. i'd be more than happy to help in any way i can.
also just for some updates on my cannon, last night i shot a golf ball through 6 sheets of 1/2 inch .. (13mm) plywood at 140 psi. after multiple shots i just couldnt get it to go through seven sheets.

Hi,
Looks like a water heater... as far as I know, that's not just one big tank. There is a curled up, loooong pipe in there.
Fire extinguishers have been used by several people here, and I think they are considered very good and quite safe to use. Of course, you need to be able to weld, or come up with some ingenious ohter way to connect stuff to them.
Regards
Soren

I didnt weld my fire extinguisher cannon i just epoxied a little fitting that threaded into the camber to the barrel but thats a pneumatic not a hybrid.dongfang wrote:Hi,

Yeah, let's use a pop-off valve.

Here is a traduction of what i said :
Hey kornino, i'm french too and it's been 5 years since i began building spudguns. I lready have several pneumatics and a hybrid. For the chamber i suggest you buy 2" steel and a steel union. Take great care as a hybrid is by far more powerfull than a simple spudgun. Mine you send supersonic marbles and a 350m/s + marble is really fast and goes through a lot of stuff!! voila! (don't hesitate to pm me etc etc etc...)
