Im looking for some latches to make my own cam locking system for my coaxial. I found some here:http://www.southco.com/product/class.aspx?cid=7418 but i cant order from that site. i believe they only ship in large quantities. I was planning on either using two or four of these guys. Anyone know a good place to find them?

mcmaster has them, but they are pricey and i refuse to buy from them anyways. i cant stand how they tell you your shipping price after you already placed your order. I am going to try my local hardware stores tomorrow. I cant believe i cant find them on the net.
You could try bungee straps. There work the same as the metals ones that you found execpt that they are rubber. I dont know if they would hold but you could try it.
Also look at water pumps fittings, they have them but I dont know if they are pressure rated. I have some, I will see if they are.

OK, now Im sounding like a noob because Im not 100% what cam locks are
If Im correct in what Im thinking, what about those locking things on cookie jars (its only like 2-3$)
Heres a pic (sorry, the lid broke off the jar) http://s203.photobucket.com/albums/aa95 ... amlock.jpg
Sorry if Im totally wrong here!

arent cam-lock's made by Banjo?
anyway, try the big wingnut screw down thing. you should make a breech on a HUGE cannon like that................ that would OWN.
anyway, banjo makes cam-locks. im 100% sure of that. and mcmaster is sadly the only place youre gonna find them, as far as i know.

How about engine cover locks out of a van??? Look them up for a 1988 G20 Chevy Van. Used auto parts yards would probly sell them to you cheap, you need both the striker post (screws out with a 55 Torx bit), and the latch.

jrrdw, thats actually where i got the idea to look for the latches i posted in the first post of this thread lol. I have to ford vans. the problem is, they are set at an angle and not straight forward so i dont think they would apply pressure the right way. I think i am going to try the wing nut thing, for now. Still looking for a way to mount it tho
