I found this on ebay for 35$ all metal rated at 300psi. i dont have a use for one right now so i thought id show you guys.
Very long link
300 psi spinkler valve
8lbs
man that would be heavy, but that thing could take probably 350-400psi.
nice find

That would be extrememly hard to open at those pressures!how mnay Square Inches do you think is on that buuterfly valves sealing plate? Then times that by 300psi and your getting close to the amount of force you are going ot need to get it to move.

It looks to me like it pivots in the the middle of that sealing plate. So wouldn't that mean that when you open it, there will be as much force from the air pushing the valve open as there is trying to keep it closed? I might be mistaken as to how these work, but it looks pretty balanced to me.rna_duelers wrote:That would be extrememly hard to open at those pressures!how mnay Square Inches do you think is on that buuterfly valves sealing plate? Then times that by 300psi and your getting close to the amount of force you are going ot need to get it to move.

Chaos you should sell that, they go for like $200, I forgot how they do connect to pipe...Do the ends of the pipe need to be flared or something and you bolt around it like a compression fitting?
That valve may be heavy, but then you can use higher pressure air, and would be using metal pipe anyway. It may not be the most fun to carry, but it would probably help make it more accurate and you wouldn't have to worry about it breaking from a heavy chamber or barrel since it's metal itself.
As for those butterfly valves, would those have to be welded? Are they aluminum? :violent2:

I'm weird, I know it, you don't need to tell me.
Try a price of $300AUD+ i didn't buy it it was a leftover from a job at work.
its solid stainless and for the purpose it would be used for would be welded to a steam line. but they have like a locking compression fitting type thing that clamps over the base of the valve.
there quite easy to open and mythbusters used a 12" butterfly valve on there chicken gun with no hassles to open it
