PVC showing up in Xrays

Can't they set the X-Ray to certain settings? They should be able to set it to approximatley the density of PVC and everything less dense will show up light and the PVC will be more noticable.

Most xray devices arent ajustable

You can't "set it to the density of x"; the only adjustment available to my knolage would be emmiter power, and x-ray frequency - current and voltage provided to the emmiter tube, respectivly.
Now, while it's most likely true that different materials have different "colors" as far as X-rays are conserned, PVC related injuries are very rare, and they might not know the optimum frequency for spotting it.
