buying an airsoft gun

i still reccomend an m14. i just found out ECHO1 makes one. echo1 is by far the best you can get for uder 200 bucks. my freind has the echo1 AK-47, and two words come to mind... "HOLY F---!"

plus echo 1's can take all marui upgrades.

for barrels, id actually reccomend a TN (teflon nickel) barrel. they are.... accurate..... alot....... in fact im buying one for my friend with the L96 so he will stop complaining to us about how innacurate his sniper rifle is.

you do realize an echo 1 gun is just a JG with a warranty... i know shorty's has great service but i just cant justify pay another $30 for a gun i can get just as easily elsewhere. about the barrel i cant find a TN barrel thats anywhere close to long enough i was thinking about a mad bull version 2 509mm 6.03... i have seen it hit a target at 200ft accurately with .25g (which i happen to have 10,000 already)

anyway i guess its not worth risking the $200 so im going to order the bulk of it from Airsoft GI and the new parts list is probably going to be...

sounds nice...... you might find you have to modify the tightbore slightly, but w/e. and you should sell the original barrel to us spudder people. we could make some killer BBMG's with it........

wait a second! if you want a good highly upgradeable gun, i would definetly reccomend the HFC/TM MP100. i know ebay isnt the best place to buy airsoft, but you can buy the gun for $40 plus shipping there. apply the teflon tape mod(just wrap teflon tape tightly around the whole hopup and lower barrel assembely) and you will be getting 450+ fps and 250 ft effective range. if you do go down this path make sure to get the wooden stock version, the black one is made more cheaply and more prone to failure.
P.S. the jg dragnauv is crappy, it has the same length inner barrel as a JG M16, and looks like a childs toy. if you want an A.E.G for sniping, rethink your descision, the point of a sniper is to stay hidden, maybe fire 5-6 shots the whole game, maybe have a pair of binoculars and a radio to inform the main squad of enemy movements. another gun that i have heard good things about is the mauser broomstick, which is pretty short so it can be used for closer positions if need be.
P.S.S dont buy from GI!!! http://pointact.com/ has the exact same stuff for wholesale and the minimum order is only $100 that cant be beat!

Try kapowwe. They are pretty good. I got alot of my guns from them. I would go with the SVD with the upgrades you were talking about.

the thing is im not going to be exactly snipping... it just need something to take out people with higher end AEGs with out having to waste 1000 rounds of the vortex gun. theres only two or three people who have really nice AEGs that we play with (out of about 30) the rest have like MPEGs or higher end springers and theres a few with marui's. and i don't really care that it doesn't have the best look... in fact thats what people are use to from me. i came to a game with a bunch of unpainted pvc in a seemingly random configuration (yay T version vortex) and managed to take out half the team in the first round we played. im basically going to be upgrading all the parts of the gearbox that break so i don't see how its going to be "crappy" other tan body panel coming apart or something but tape and CA glue can fix that. i just checked pointact.com and it doesn't seem like they sell any upgrades (unless im not looking hard enough). also is that HFC the equivalent to the UTG m324 becuase i have fired those before on many occasions even with the Teflon mod they still shoot crappy. i was trying to stay away from gas guns because i don't like to pay for overpriced propane

alabaster do you airsoft? and do you know what your talking about? the well L96 has more power than quite a few TM aegs (stock of course). the svd doesnt have much power or accuracy but with upgrades it can be a good gun.

Yes I do airsoft and anyone with a single shot gun gets there ass beat on. No mater how powerful the sniper is the auto always wins.

thats probably becuase of the tactics they use, spring snipers are only decent when playing on larger fields where the sniper can find some good cover or construct some sort of fortification. now if theres a once the sniper is spotted its pretty much all over unless the sniper has the advantage of range in which case there still is a chance.

but anyway i want to order this stuff on Monday so spring sniper or upgraded AEG?

I think the spring sniper will be more reliable and quiet, but the AEG louder and more prone to break. It all depends on what you really want to do; Snipe, or close range. Airsoft Atlanta has way better prices than shorty USA. The ECHO-1 AK-47 costs $30 less there than Shorty-USA. I have a ghillie suit and it is fun to ambush people or snipe them when wearing it. Go with the ECHO-1 AK like VH-man said, I too have a friend who has one and its quality is that of an ICS AK.

i don't really want to snipe i just want a weapon with slightly longer range, and the noise thing doesn't matter my vortex gun isn't all to stealthy. that thing gives away my position the second i pull the trigger, but it scares the crap out of people so they tend to stay at a distance. i think im going to stick with the SVD because of the longer barrel
