I was wondering if this valve would work. It is similar to a system that is used on a real marker but with some changes because I do not have a lot of hi tech tools. It would run off co2 regulated down to the highest psi rating of copper pipe. Does it increase the rating if the whole length of the copper pipe is covered by a coupling or a cap? I do not think that this valve would be good fo auto because the co2 would not be as pressurized as the first shot and be a lot weaker depending on how fast the regulator is. Here is the valve:

It looks like it might work, but how does the air escape? Building the trigger system will be really hard too.

The air escapes after the slide is pushed forward by the pressurized air. The spring is not very powerful it is only to push the slide behind the trigger mechanism. the slide support as slots cut in it to allow air to pass through it.

O, OK right, couldnt deduce that from the picture. It should work pretty well, but as I said, to make the trigger setupwork well could prove to be very difficult, but the design is worth trying at least

Sorry to respond so late, but what would be wrong with the trigger. It does not matter how fast the trigger is pulled, the pressured co2 is what forces the slide forward fast. It is just like an airsoft gun trigger except is is air tight.

No, I meant that making those cogs and stuff to work perfectly is going to be difficult.

Don't use cogs then? There are other ways around it, just have to think outside the box a little. :)

you could also use the designs for homemade spring piston nerf and airsoft guns

I think you missing the whole popet valve isn't that the main valve that the slide is hitting in the paint ball gun, in spud guns we use more powerful air operated valves like sprinkler valves and piston valves
when using a sprinkler valve the setup is more like a comercail toilet or urinal, a needle valve of flow control valve filling the chammber, and with piston a 3way valve works nicely for fill and acuation, I think this is much more effective in larger scale high powered guns

Redcoat- the slide would not be for hitting the paintball when it moves forward it pushes the paintball out of the magazine and releases the co2 which pushes the ball.
Iknow- the slide is not for pushing the pin that releases the air, the slide is what releases the air.
Modder- thank you for the idea, it does seem a lot easier.

Here is where my idea came from. I made it inside out because I thought this way would work better and I do not have the right tools to make it.

You can use the washer trigger system, in the nerf world it´s very populair with homemade´s.
