do repair couplings have orings on the inside? that will be useful

Yes, both expansion couplings and PVC saddles have been used in cannons. Boogieman used a expansion joint in one of his guns (advancedspuds.com). I also used 2 expansion couplings for a recoil stock on my sniper. DR used PVC saddles on his hybrid.
Salad Tosser I do belive expansion couplings have o-rings in them. If not how would they prevent water from leaking around them? I have some laying around I just need to look, but Im to lazy.

yes they do have orings in them(mine has 2)
