well im working on a grenade type device which uses a watter bottle as a chamber. the problem is becuase the grenade is thrown when it hits the ground there is a tremendous amount of stress put on the glue joint that is between the watter bottle cap and the pvc chamber. the pvc chamber holds what i call the "activator". i have been using epoxy putty to hold the two together (the devcon brand epoxy putty seems to give a tremendous bond when it comes to plastics) the epoxy putty stays on the PVC but it just wont stick to the semi clear plastic of the water bottle lid. so from your experiences what would be the best type of epoxy to use?

Are you roughening up the contact surfaces enough with a file and sandpaper?

Yeah i would go with useing an abrasive on the bottle, but if that doesnt work you could always just pre coat it in a spray on glue and epoxy over that.
