Thanks for the comments guys

Yeah I will have to make the trigger a bit longer. I have a cannon which uses a similar designed blowgun, except no lever, you just push down on the push-button thing, it is easy to use at 100psi, 300-400psi shouldn't be a problem because this version will use a level. I have been thinking about what to make the trigger out of and in my exam today I thought about using epoxy putty and shaping it with the dremmel, file and sand paper.

One more question, I will attach the barrel which is aluminum to a compression end cap with a hole in the center with metal epoxy putty, this will hold right? I will have the epoxy putty around the barrel and touching the chamber all around, and it will be like 10-20mm long so i should have enough surface area for it to grip.

It's a good idea to file some notches in the barrel where it's going to contact with the epoxy for much better grip.

What do you mean?
Its epoxy putty so don't i just stuff it down so it fills the space at the end between the barrel and inside of chamber?

Yes but it has to adhere to the surfaces, and as with epoxy resin abrading the surface promotes better adhesion.

Its metal epoxy putty I'm going to use... That reminds me, do i need to scratch the surface to use metal epoxy putty? I know you just said an answer above, but I'm not sure if you are referring to regular epoxy or metal epoxy putty.

With any glue (and even though it's putty, it still has to stick to the metal) a rough surface is always better than a smooth one.

I think JSR's Hydrualic trigger mech is beautiful in it's simplicity, and yes he is right (as always) about abrading the surface. (it gives a kind of velcro grip)

Yeah, i might make one oneday.
On second thoughts, would a paintball type hammer valve work? What i mean by that is, instead of having the hammer valve open up the chamber to shoot a projectile, the hammer could hit the blowgun piston stem, opening it (or for jack, hitting the pin on a sharader(sp)). So the action is the spring pushes a piston, which moves back, hitting the blowgun and opening it momentarily. It could be attached to a pump or bolt to also use a magazine. It would be a version of the Sheridan Valve except it would be used on the blowgun.

I don't think you get airsoft 8mm BB's, unless I'm mistaken. I have 8mm ball bearings, darts or anything else that fits in.
