I was wondering if anyone has ever done this. Gone to there local longs drugs or some store with a photo center, and asked the the remaining flash circuits from the disposable cameras they get. Would they give em to you?

Yeah people do it all the time. Just say its for a science project. People will usually do anything to help if its for "school"

I've gotten plenty cameras that way. Just come up with an intelligent sounding reason why you want one. (ex: improvised TASER, coilgun, combustion ignition system!)

Walmart doesn't give them out as easily, if at all. They worry about the legal bs too much to take a chance on giving anyone something dangerous.

(An ironic and funny thing I discovered if you look/are under 18:
Get a pack of paintballs and a chainsaw and go to the checkout. You will be "carded" for trying to buy paintballs, but chainsaws are allowed.)

First of all don't tell them you're making a taser just say for a science project and some places don't give them out cause they recycle the components and make money off them.

I dont think they can recylce the cicuits actually. Sinse theres a variety of materials in them. Copper, plastic, magnisuim, aluminum and some checmicals. I think they can only recyle the plastic casings right?

I am not sure that they would give me some here in Seattle... Everyone here is paranoid of lawsuits and have a constant CYA in effect.
