barrel sleeving

don't know where i saw it but there was some discussion about barrel sleeving. to make it easier try a light coat of veggie spray like pam. also, when you cut the space in the inner tubing, cut it in a spiral rather than straight. don't know about increased distance but the simple rifling groove that results increases accuracy!

Two things, the harder it is to sleeve it means the less likely it will come out, so lubricating it might be a bad thing. Also, 1 rifle groove isn't gonna give you any more accuracy, most rifled barrels have six evenly spaced grooves. One groove might just rip apart the potato. Also, this shouldn't be in this category, try the "General Spudgun Related" category.

I too suspect that one "groove" (if you can call it that, as I suspect it won't stick out very much) won't do enough to matter, and will probably just rip out of the potato, creating more blowby.

I don't really suggest vegtable spray as a lubricant in the instalation... you might try isopropal alchohol, although you'll want to work in the cold to minimize the stench.

but isnt the reaosn we sleave barrels most of the time for gb's so would it increase the accuracy if it were a gb? because my sleeved barrel is a staight cut and sometimes it will have some freaish slices or it will kind bouce around in the air
