NoN: but wont the force of the shot break the egg BEFORE it leaves the barrell?

I'm pretty sure I've read around here that it's been done before, and even if it hasn't, all it really should take is a really cushioed sabot. Also, eggs are pretty strong if you exert force on their top, so it's deffinitly plausible.

try ping-pong balls filled with water, I don't know what size pipe they fit in because I don't have any right now but it could be 2 inch. Its worth a shot.

Ping pong balls are smaller than 2 inch. I don't know exactly what size but I do know they are smaller than 2 inches and filled with water would be pretty cool.

with the nerf vortex balls you have to rap them with a little bit of scotch tape so they fit good. if you dont do that then i hope you like your ammo going two feet and just falling to the ground.

I'm pretty sure that 1.5" pipe unions fit. Fill er up with cement and your good to go!

How do you fill a ping pong ball with water and still have a nice seal? Too bad Ducktape isn't water proof

my cannon will shoot the nerfs about 300yrds using a 2 inch barrel. the nerfs are a perfect fit and do not need to be rapped with anything.

well how big is your cannon? and no i do not use modified nerfs, they are the standard 2 inch nerf rockets. this is my cannon.

The few Nerf Footballs I have found that had the fins behind them, I think they are called Vortexs, fit almost perfect in 2 inch pipe. I haven't had to tape them or anything.

The best ammo for damage or range I have found for 2 inch pipe in a reasonably large launcher is take a 3-4 inch chunk of 2 inch pipe and line it with cardboard from tp tubes or whatnot and pour concrete in it. With a couple of these molds I can make 6 slugs in around 12 hours. Then before bed I pop them out and make 6 more. The carboard will stick to the slug which will protect the inside of your barrel while not being very thick, and also prevents the concrete from sticking to the PVC. Awesome range and power.

i buy my nerfs at family dollar they usualy run around 2 bucks apiece, i don't know what they are called but we get these balls to play around the pool with , you soak them in water and throw them , they work great in a cannon to, as do caulk tubes , you will need to rap some tape around them for a tighter fit. you can also make sabot rounds filled with paintballs, marbles or ball bearings. i work with ceramic tile and always have extra thinset and grout wich works the same as concrete, just a tip , if you add some bakeing soda it will make the concrete setup alot faster.

yes it is built based on the bergles style and yes i did know it was a dwv fitting, actualy i was going to retire this launcher but i decided to make some upgrades instead , and #1 will be replacing that fitting.

I use portland concrete powder, straight. What kind of mix with baking soda? 1:1 or more like 5 concrete:1 soda? I assume mix dry and then add water.

without knowing how much you mix at a time it is hard to say , at work i use no more than 8oz. bakeing soda to each 100lb bag of cement , also the fresher the bakeing soda the quicker it will start to setup. if you use to much it will start to setup before you can get it mixed up, it does not matter wether you mix it dry or wet , normaly i mix it dry then add water. i would start with maybe 2 or 3 tbl spoons and adjust from there to get the desired results. in the same respect you can add a little antifreeze to make it set up slower but you cannot mix the two they would cancell each other out and be wasted.

ping pong balls are 40mm... 40mm is 1.57480315 inches
