I was wondering if anybody else thought this was a good idea. Take Galfisk's ball valve piston mod and FiveSeven's ball valve loader and combine them. By using an over-under configuration you could put the two ball valves right over each other, by attaching a pulley to the valves you could spin both at once.

i think you should give it a try and fill us in on it later , i had an idea of using a breech loading piston valve where you can bring the piston back so far you can insert you ammo through a hole and it would go directly to the barrel but i havent thought through all the glitches

I'm proabably going to build this over spring break in a few days, I just need to buy a few parts. I think I need a 1" Endcap, a 1.5" Encap, and a 1.5" Ball Valve. I'll post pictures when I build it.

Isn't the piston valve easyer to build?Or a pop up valve?

I think he's talking about a safety pop-off valve.

As I said before, my design is also chiefly based on GalFisk's idea (1st link in Atlantis' 1st post). I just coupled it with the rotary loader. Perhaps it's my fault because I failed to make myself clear. So I'll try again:

1. The projectile enters the ball valve vertically. At this point, the valve is in its closed position.
2. The ball—holding the projectile—rotates. Even if the valve is partially open, the projectile seals the system because it has nowhere to go (like in GalFisk's piston, only not inside a pipe but inside the ball itself).
3. When the projectile is aligned with the barrel, the system is no longer sealed, so the projectile starts moving down the barrel. The ball valve is now in its fully open position.
4. The ball continues to rotate to its initial position (closed, as in step 1). By the time it's fully closed, enough air (or whatever propellant) should have had passed through to push the projectile all the way through the barrel.

If I can find the time, I'll draw an animation, but this description should make it pretty clear.
I initially wanted to make this system manual, as breech loaders using modded ball valves have already been constructed and used. I figured if I open the valve quickly enough, it should make a simple and efficient gun. Later fhat night, I remembered about H&K's G11 and I figured I could make the whole thing automatic. So the idea was born.

the plastic ball valves that i get over here wouldnt work for any kind of automatic use, im sure you would have to fabricate your own ball valve for it to work properly
