Air rifles pistons do make a lot of pressure, but it's in very small volumes, with lethally powerful springs.
I half took my finger off with a single mistake with a comparably wimpy spring, and the launcher never fired more than a few feet.
The damage a mistake can cause and the likelihood of such a mistake will scale with the potential for power. The feeble results aren't worth the high risks.
Does that thing kinda look like a big cat to you?

yeah I'd imagine it would require a fairly dangerously powerful spring to get good results; I'll stick with pneumatic as well I reckon...hope your finger's alright as well!

It grew back, but obviously my body's DIY rebuilding is run by a group of total cowboys, because it's come back as a thick scar.

im taking my pneumatic rifle down the lake to test it out properly made some silicon slugs for it took ages only got 3

ohh well they fit in the barrel very good and come out with a bit of speed shot one in my room it bounced of every wall after it blew through my target lucky no holes.
how much of your finger did u take off??
