Yesterday I was reading something on a website that said that when you put the potato in the barrel then spray in the fuel then ram the potato down after the fuel is in the chamber it makes the potato go a lot farther because it compresses the air in the chamber. Do you guys think this will help?

wont work, first, air will leak, second when you try that, your potato will most likely make a mess in the barrel when the rod breaks it, third, if it does work, it may pop out at any time.

i know what you meant, it's a old idea

i know it pops out, because it happened under the exact circumstances you said, and it really did hurt somebody.

i know it does break, i tried the samething, my broom knocked a hole in the middle of the spud, the rest broke into peices and rested behind a stopping screw in the barrel, month later i found my gun willed with rotting material and a brown liquid.

thats just experiance telling me it wont work.

Yea, I also tried this with my first gun that had a fan int he back. Made a huge mess. Bad enough starch gets all over your guns innerds but the rest of the potato, ew.

Needless to say, the fan was on when I tried this and it was like a blender to the smaller chunks.

it works that how i use my gun depending on the barrel size,
1.Put poatao in half way down barrel
2.Spray propelent in the chamber, not to much becasue it will compress
3.Push poatao all the way down the barrel
4.Fire

It all wasy works for me, try it for your self and see how it works out.

If your ammo pops out, it's because the seal is very tight and the built up presure from pushing the ammo down the barrel pushs it back out. There was a post awhile back someone was wondering why the ammo poped back out, the seal was real tight. I think his sulotion was unscrew the end cap, push the ammo, load the fuel, replace the end cap, push the ignighter---BANG! He just shot his spud. Nice shoot'in, Tex.

WHY!?!?! If you already have a near perfect FAR (fuel air ratio) how would "compressing" it make a noticable difference?

No it would not. The same amount of air and fuel are in the chamber as non-compressed.

if it was going to be that small of a pressure increase just use easy to make ceran wrap burst disks and one pump of a bike pump in a schrader valve.

Yes, it would. It would be like the gen 2 hybrid, only in this case it simply wouldn't add any noticeable power.

Not worth the effort.
