If you made a burst disk cannon and added a trigger operated, spring loaded disk penetrator, you could build a triggered burst disk cannon. When you pull the trigger it would release the spring driven nail and break the disc and fire.

Thats a really good idea. I might try it as a valve for my big one. How about if you put a valve like a modded solenoid behind the disk so when the valve is released the disk bursts? Or even a ballvalve? Im gonna try your idea first though.

If you tried your idea, what would be the point of the disk? Lol.

If the valve opens too slow like a ball valve and you put the burst disk after it, it will hold the presure for long enough so when the projectile starst moveing you will have maximum flow.

I see your point, kinda like Galfisk's ball Valve Mod. I'm gonna try this first though.

To my knolage, no nail puncture system has ever provided any sort of good flow - they tend to simply perferate the material instead of causing it to blow out.

However, with this being a spring powered device, you may be able to use a serated steel cutter in the manner of a spudcutter. If you give it a bit of distance to get up to speed, it could do quite well.
