I was wondering if a small hybrid with a 3/4 inch brass chamber and a 1/4 inch brass barrel would work for high mixes. all the fittings would be brass and from what i understand brass pipe is reted to about 2500 PSI and Fittings to 3000 PSI. What do you think?
Threads will be the "weakest" link therefore lowering the pressure capabilites severly. If you were to construct such a cannon it would be recommended to construct of black pipe then weld it together after tightening. Also metering has be a super biotch.
It must be understood that pipes pressure rating includes a HUGE safety margin. Im not recomending, but you could proably pump 2" sch 40 1,000 psi before fearing of a "burst" failure. Seeing as we dont want to tip toe on edge of safety we also incorperate a huge safety margin. Rambos 4X mix exploded his bottle if you dont remeber/ recall.
I would suggest metal pipe purely for safety. As always, play it safe. (Rambo is not a good example when it comes to this)

They run a saftey margin of three times the pressure rating of the pipe before it bursts.
