We were just talking about this stuff in chem the other day. Its completely stable before it dries, so you should theoretically be able to ship it wet. My teacher said he did this as a class lab, and accidently set it off before it was completely dry, scattering it all over the room. For the next week, there were small random explosions as the scattered chemical detonated.
Indeed, Iodine-based touch-sensitive explosives are pretty fun and easy to make, once you have the right ingredients. There are less sensitive (hence safer) variations than Nitrogen Triiodide. You could dissolve it in gasoline for shipping, I guess. If the container is filled to the top, it should'd have room to evaporate, so it'd be safe.
i have heard this stuff works great for practial jokes too. just put a little of it made into a paste with water on a hinge of a stapler, door, ect. if you just put i tiny drop its not enough to hurt anyone but is enough for a nice pop
hah hey at least its an excuse. but ive seen it done before on tv buttons and and staplers on a tv show called brainiac. the person that touched it had some rubber gloves on but it wasnt that big of an explosion. just big enough for a little pop. its harmless with just like a drop

Cant this be made with iodine crystals and cleaning amonia and its less sensative i think the mixture ratio is 12:1 amonia to iodine crystals and then it is left to dry.
