But if the wars don't get them, AIDs will, lovely outlook on life they must have. And look at how long South Africa remained ruled by a small group of whites. Or how long it took America to outlaw slavery, humans are just lousy when it comes to being decent to one another.

Well it can't, sooner or later the world will outgrow its available space and either populizing the moon or mass killings are in style again.

I saw a really interesting program on PBS with a guy claiming that guns germs and steel were the reason some cultures emerged as the rulers and the conquerers. Also he claimed that geological origins had much more to do with Europeans success than the fact the white people could ever be "smarter of better humans"

Its in our nature to kill, for survival or desire. sad but true and those that overcome that will be pushed aside by those that don't.

Intresting concept...at any rate... there is no doubt that things will get worse and worse as overpopulation becomes more and more of a reality.

I would agree - he was an man of many talents, and if only he hadn't persecuted ethnic minorities and brought about the Second World War he would be considered a legend, rather than a monster, the world over.
No doubt if he had used his abilities for good, the world could have been an incredible place.

It's the stock thing that people say: "If I had the choice to go back in time to change history, I would kill Hitler".
I wouldn't. I'd try to see if he could be set on the right path, because just imagine where the world might be... In all probability, I wouldn't exist, as both my parents were born in the "Baby Boom" after the war (No war, no baby boom) but those facts aside... the world could have been pretty amazing.

What makes a Hitler? Incredible drive, tenacity, some pretty sharp intelligence and vast charisma - plus unfortunately, a serious mental problem.
Does that thing kinda look like a big cat to you?

He was a great man, no doubt about it. He did alot of good for Germany before the war, like employing the unemployed to build the autobahn.

Funny how the Nazi's got the idea of Zyklon-B from the Americans

Anyone seen 'The Great Dictator' by Charlie Chaplin? I love that movie, I recommend to all.

Intresting how we got the interstate system idea from the Nazi's autoban...

Kind of sad how alot of our greatest technological achievements are made in developing ways to more effcienctly kill each other...

I don't know that you would have any shot at changing his mind. You would have to be extremely narcissistic to do what he did, the kind of person who isn't exactly known for being open minded.

Plus it seems to me that one of his great motivators was to rid the world of jews, so if he didn't have that drive would he still become a leader?

Good point... theres so many factors into what makes a man a man... we could anylize this all day and never touch on what made old Adolph tick...

Perhaps some people are born natrual leaders.
