Over the weekend I replaced the standard 3 foot 1.5 inch barrel on my cannon with a 7 ft barrel, and mounted it on a wheeled stand so that it seems more like a Howitzer than a potato cannon. Unfourtunatley, It had dismal results. Could this be due to the new barrel? I also think it may be due to the tank, which is only about half the length at 43 inches by 2 inches wide. Also, latley, my unmodded sprinkler has been honking like crazy. Could the pilot valve be causing the pathetic shots?.

p.s I am operating at around 70 psi

If i'm correct, the honking comes from slow opening valve. If that is the case, then yes it will cause weak shots. Look in the Pneumatic Cannon forum, there is a lot of post and replys about that very problem.
