I have two spears fitted with aluminum arrows and cheapo broad heads. The pipe on the spear is probably about 2.5' and the arrow stick out another 12". The gigg is made of the same pvc construction but with a gigg tip welded into a 3/4" galvanized bushing.
The reel is a walmart special and as of now I have run of the mill nylon string, but I'm looking into some 100lb test proline fishing line.
Valving is a stanard 1" watermaster valve. The blowgun triggr is mounted in the 1" handle.
pressure is supplied via a 20oz CO2 tank hooked up to a Palmer Stabilzer regulator (thank yall for the recommendations) which is perfect if yall want to run paintball tanks on your cannons.
Since this cannon is designed for more function than cosmetics, the pant is a little rough, and the hoses can use some cleaning up. My main problem with this thing has been the weight and its balance. It is meant to be supported with the left hand in between the tank and bipod, but this sumbitch gets heavy when you have it up to your shoulder afer a short while. Shortening the overall gun is soon to come, along with fiber sights and a more specialized reel.
As far as accuracy goes, the Intimidator isn't meant for long range shots. 20yrds is the farthest I can see anyone shooting this particular gun anyway. With just the pvc bolt, I can hit a mcdonalds cup 20yrds out with no problem. For underwater targets, ranges will be more like 5-10 yrds at the most and I set the pressure for 35psi. For surface shots, (10-20yrds) I'll set it to 50psi.
This has proved to VERY effective so far. ~50 shots to a tank (shoddy math) and so far, lethal accuracy. Also cheaper than a bowfishing rig.
Hope yall like it
