your cannon is pretty heavy, isn't it? What are you going to shoot with this cannon?

NO retard
PCGUY was talking about solid propellants. such as a solid combustion fuel, such as black powder.etc.

you really don't want to use solid propellants in cannons, sometimes igniting them will make them expand too rapidly which will possibly break the pvc creating shrapnel. ha, the cannon im currently playing around with looks very similar to that design, except with a 1.5inch barrel and a 3in chamber. make sure your schrader valve is threaded, and get alot of teflon tape. you can put the schrader valve almost anywhere on the cannon but i'd suggest putting it right through the thickest part on the tip of the endcap. that way it won't rip off of your cannon from high pressure.

Spudstuff, I point out that:
*that's the VoD (velocity of detonation), which is calculated for an infinitly large diameter charge.
*NG doesn't burn very well, tending to go out
*It takes a bit of run-up time to reach that velocity even if explosivly set off.
And yes, the 24,000 fps (who the f gives VoDs in FPS? Everyone gives them in m/s...) number seems about right.
And a proper detonation - or even an overly fine powder - tends to cause failure in real-steal firearms.
Also, that avatar distracting, not terribly well animated, and really pissing me off. Take whatever action seems most proper considering this.
