Would the rubber from a basketball make a good seal againts PVC? The inside might be smooth, I'm not sure.

if it was clean then yes,there is also the 'bladder' inside the ball if you could use that.

what were you going to seal it for? that would be a mean burst disk...

Might even be good for a diaphraghm, I'll check when I get home. I was planning on using it with a barrel sealing valve.
