Under age driving motor driven vehicles?

I'm 12 going 13 in June. In California is it legal for me to drive anything driven by a motor? (go-karts, pocket bikes, ATVs, etc.)

Im sure it would be fine if its on your property but if you were talking about on the road then no becuase you have to have a drivers license to drive any motor anything on the road. But Im not completely sure so dont rely fully on me.

yah its legal nothing that requires a licnese [plate you can drive altohugh i drive anytihng trucks cars lol being 14 its illegal but when have i followed the law

Ummm no andrew you cant just take a go cart and drive down main street. MAYBE if you lived in a small town where theres a population of like 100 but in most places in california its pretty crowded. Where are you from andrew?

im not talking about on the main street im talking about off-road and my town theres like 10,000

Oh then sory yeah driving off road is all right but still if you have a motorcycle you have to get either green sticker or that other one red I think.

You need an ATV license. To get one, go to the DNR and sign up for the ATV operation and safety class. Once finished you will be allowed to ride ATVs in designated ATV areas.

iv been ridin sence i was 13 even with that law, i was ridin down my street on multipul occasions and a cops saw me they all told me to go straight home, just be polite and thats probably all theyll do, if ur gona go ridin on trails i sugest u get permision from the owner of the property and DONT TEAR UP THEIR PROPERTY, if ur farily far from your house like my brother was when he was on our duel-sport (without a motorcycle licens)theyll call ur parents and tell them to come pick it up, just be polite and they wont care to much unless ur impaired

You don't need a trailer or a station wagon to haul this

our model was designed so that registration could be obtained, making it possible to drive the kart to its destination on public roads. Our plates were obtained in New York. However, regulations vary and the requirements would have to be checked in other states. First we had to supply three things: proof of ownership (a bill of sale for the engine); an affidavit stating that the kart was built by ourselves; and a list of the parts used. To make the kart legally roadworthy it had to have front and rear bumpers, a brake on each rear wheel, headlights, taillights, turn signals, a rear license plate and a horn. In use, the head-lights are required to be 24 inches above

I dont know (wow 777 posts salad cool) I was told that in order for something to be street legal it has to have wheel fenders, turning/brake signals, and a windsheild. Maybe since that cart is from 1962 that the laws changed.

it also has to have DOT aproved tires, head lights, i also think it has to be able to stop at high way speed 120ft (i think), mirrors, thats all i can think of right now

wear a helmet and you will be okay... I live in a small town, so no one cares, i still ride my bike around

That go-kart is street legal but you need to register it at DMV and such...Right?...And I was planning to ride at the school which is right behind my backyard. It has TONS of space to ride so yeah...Is it legal to ride at a public school (off-school days of course)?
