I just finished building that gun..and mine doesnt work
..I'm still trying to make it work, but the piston wont blow back...I'm going crazy. I made the n00b mistake of choosing this as my first gun...which is probably why i can't seem to make it work. I also have seal problems, the neoprene he suggests doesn't hold a perfect seal...although that's far less of a problem than the fact it doesn't actually shoot for whatever reason. lol

very useful, put a bumber behind the piston, or else there is a chance the whole rear end will blow right out, after all, the piston is a enclosed projectile on it's own
also a system to dampen recoil is a good idea too
to glue that part, simply use a file to grind away the obstructing ring inside the bushing

I did some 3d image of the gun I plan to build

To glue that thread use tfe paste, it's not glue but its pressure rated at 10 000 psi. And to respond to the guy who asked about my piston, I have no clue why it wont blow back...otherwise I would have it fixed by now. Oh, as well; making the stabilizer is one of two really long hard things to do unless you have proper power tools. I ended up spending about 1.5 hours cutting that reducer into the shape of the stabilizer, than sawed all the tips to be as flat and even as possible. I did that with a mitre saw. The second pain in the ass with this gun is sanding the 3" coupler which will be your piston body. It takes FOREVER.
As well, for your turret: you may want some kind of set up for the recoil, as this gun does kick. The few times I've sucessfully shot it (it didnt go too far) the recoil was insane. I designed my own mount with springs somewhat similar to the one he has on the site. They've worked well, the few time's I've been able to get the damn thing to work. Otherwise if you're fine with it just sliding back a bit on the ground don't sweat it.And about the piston, again - I've been talking to the xinventions guy over email and I'm trying to solve my problems, so I'll keep you posted if I find out any useful info.
i can imagine the construction of this cannon as being a little tedious. but also make sure you have air tight seals with the cement that you use, if you even have the smallest pinhole leak it can screw you over, and you'll have to start over

why did you sand your 3" coupler, they fit perfect into the 4" pipe ?!?trask_12 wrote: The second pain in the ass with this gun is sanding the 3" coupler which will be your piston body. It takes FOREVER.
