hey wasup everyone ... my first few guns were pnuematic and used bicycle pumps cause i really didn't wanna blow myself up .. so then after i got use to that i went up and tried a CO2 tank powered one but didn't have the right thingy so i did kinda blow myself up but that's all over so i'm building this cannon that's works in the same way as some airsoft guns ... this is the basic stuff for people who don't know ...

ok so ... you pull back the piston (somehow) and then you let it loose (somehow) and all the air in the air chamber should compress really really fast so that it will send the projectile (what ever it will be) out really fast

don't worry that's just the basic stuff for now .. i'll improve on it when i'm ready to build it ... but i'm not sure what to use as a piston for a 1" pvc pipe ... Can anyone give me some ideas? cause i don't think home depot goes around selling those ...

p.s. if you noticed i don't really know how to post pictures ... soo i made one .. and i added all those periods because ... well i don't know how to explain but they're NEEDED ... like your help .. it's NEEDED

if you want to make an airsoft kind gun go to http://www.boltsniper.com. although his are made for nerf projectiles it will be very easy to just change the barrel size.

try a 3/4" Encap or a 1/2" Encap. One of those might fit. Your gonna need O-Rings with this though.

hah dude no way i just thought of that same thing. if the spring can be pushed down with your weight just have a little pole stick out and turn it upright and push it down with your foot. with really powerful springs you could rig up some gears or a hand winch.

i have made so many spring piston guns its not funny, and you need a hopup or a very tight barrel or it wont shoot over a metre.

I'm not sure how I'd do the pull-back mecanism, but would epoxying a segment of plastic cord to the back of the piston be an option?

Anyway, I have a bag of nice Viton 1/8"x1" O-rings, and some 1.125" CPVC round stock. I could make you a nice piston for a small fee... (don't ask about large pistons. Large pistons have large fees.)

its a little piece of rubber that puts a backspin on a projectile to make it fly straighter and farther. i dont think this would work on anything but a perfectly round object though.

you make one for your barrel, a small piece of duck tape should be sufficient.

.... yeah ... now i'm confused ... duck tape? do you mean put it on the top side of the barrel and that will create the backspin?
