Oh sorry I forgot to add, to save the fitting you just cut the pipe off at the fitting and then jam the screwdriver between the pipe on the inside of the fitting and the fitting and then bang it a few times.starman wrote:Doesn't having to destroy the fitting kind of, uhh defeat the purpose. The pipe ends up peeling off instead of breaking, takes a little longer but works.

Got to be careful with that though. I've had fittings crack when trying to do this. (Although if that happens its not like you're out anything else and at least you tried.)
