(yes, I know it's illegal to have that silencer)

you can have one,but you have to get a license to have it and use it legally. you can get the license just like you get your gun license,If I do remeber correctly.

My next design might be something like this.
I want a 2 stage chamber so each shot will be the same power.I haven't seen anything wrong with the design.

I want to style it something like this:www.barrettrifles.com/military/images/m107b.jpg
or
I'd give you another link if they weren't two pages long, just go google search:image sniper rifles. and you will see what I like.

But the fire extinguisher operates at a much higher pressure.

I am trying to come up with good designs for the next cannon, tell me if I have missed anything ovious.

How are you going to valve the fire extinguisher so that it fills the pior/first chamber? If you start with a chargered one, empty it first, or you'll get a face full, not pretty! I assume you know that allready though. You know they have inner chambers to keep chemicals seperate, (because they work off a chemical reaction). Myself, after emptying the extinguisher i would drill big holes through the inner chamber to gain access to the entire volume of the bigger chamber. Even though the extinguisher will hold more pressure then the PVC, unless you have away to put twice the pressure in the rechargeing chamber you will run into the same problem, only half the power or less. Know what i mean?

Am I better off going with a paintball cylinder, what else can I do? :?

This is what I found on how stuff works; http://home.howstuffworks.com/fire-extinguisher1.htm
How would you modify it?

I love how M107's look, nice pic for a design base....

When you sy mod a fire extinguiser do you mean to use it then like drill it out so you can fill it with compressed air?

If you plan on using a fire extinguisers built in CO2 I don't recommend that because it runs out fast and you can't refil easy (I don't think this is what you mean)

CO2 from a paintball cylinder is very easy to use... all you need is a reg that goes from about 800 to 100 psi... (Warning: CO2 in hot weather can get to 1800psi, so make sure your reg wont blow at high psi)

I have a fancy paintball gun :D and my Max-Flo N2 cylinder is 4500 psi, but it has a built in reg that you can turn down to 100psi... unfortunately just the reg that goes on the tank is $150+ and the tank is $150...

Yes I know but there are different fire extinguishers here, they should work the same, it is just a matter of getting the right components.
