it's a wall that seperates the high pressure chamber and the low pressure barrel, once the high pressure exceeds a point, the "wall" (burst disk) will break, thus releasing a massive amount of air really fast.

i WAS going to post a response but i did one of my type-it-out-but-don't-submit thing
i WAS going to say there was no point to have two systems, one unpredictable and powerful, and one controlled and a little bit less powerful. but i guess you can trigger the burst disk with the piston valve...
