Hi, im kinda new to the whole spud cannon thing, but i was wondering if a 1litre, steel drink bottle (like below) could be used as an apropriate air tank, and if so, if anyone might know the aproximate air capacity/psi of it.

I don't think those are designed for pressure. Furthermore, my friend had one get a huge dent in it due to a slight knock against a table. Bottom line, there are much better practical and safe ways to make an air chamber.

On top of dubious pressure handling ability, another problem would be interfacing it to the rest of your cannon. You'll have to thread it or use a lot of JB weld to get your interconnections air tight.

Yes, it looks good but it just isn't setup to do the job at hand.

This has been brought up before, and there are hard ones and soft ones. The soft ones I can put dents in with my knuckles... the hard one gave me a nice surprise when I tried to show how soft it was. if it had take a hard hit on say a metal edge the I'd put 100 PSI in it.
