Can you give any details on how it works? Seems pretty badass.

yes it seems cool, but I'd appreciate it if you just took a real picture of it.. that way I wouldn't have to feel bad about doubting that its really yours.
The best way is to directly attach images to your post, but if you can't do that, then create a photobucket account and simply upload them to spudfiles from there.

Hmm. Not saying that you can't have built it, but these repeated "I can't upload a video" posts aren't earning you any credibility, and it sounds like you're trying to dig yourself out of a hole.
I'm prepared to give you the benefit of the doubt, but others might not be quite so accommodating.
On the flip side - if it's not your work, then the best time to own up is now, because the longer you leave it, or if you're found to have plagiarised someone else's work, then you're never going to get the credit back off the forum.
We had someone try to plagiarise a reasonably well known internet homemade airgun a couple of years back. Tried all kinds of stupid excuses when he was found out (it's not mine, it's my friend's... etc, etc), and destroyed any hopes of credibility he might have once had. Very stupid thing to have done.

Here's how it works:
(sorry, the first picture is at the bottom of the post)
Loading:
1. ribbon is loaded onto a spool, which is chucked in a small drill.
2. the ribbon is attached to one of the pegs on the barrel, and than is inserted into each slit in the pegs
3.rubber band is loaded over peg
4. repeat steps 2 and 3 up to 2000 times.
Firing:
1. The drill is turned on by means of pushing a handle on the rear of the gun
2. As the ribbon is spooled up, the rubber bands are lifted out of the slots in the pegs by the ribbon, allowing the rubberband to fire
3. The spooling action spins the barrel and moves the next rubber band into position.
And thats pretty much it, it is a simple process, but it is one that is hard to perfect, mainly because string, and various other materials I tried would simply slice the rubberbands in half. This process is simalar to the way other rubberband miniguns operate, just done on a larger scale. (The lego rubberband gun video is mine, and operates on the same principle, I was using it to gain experiance with rubberband mini guns, notible people who have build lego miniguns are on youtube koesiggneggccr007 and Kaspall)

Right now, im stiching a video together in adobe premire elements, these things take awhile to video tape, because it takes about 1 hour to load 1500 rubberbands

Ouch. I can see why though - there are 3600 seconds in an hour. Couple of seconds per rubber band will fast add up to that.Tidbit77 wrote:because it takes about 1 hour to load 1500 rubberbands

Sorry for my antics earlier, you have complied, it is all good.
EDIT - how many rubber bands per peg do you have to load to get up to 1500 - 2000 shots loaded?
Seems like a fun little project to build in my free time that also won't get me expelled from my university. And still capable of threatening room-mates with. Nice!

about 35-40, however, I do not reccommend loading that many, cause it takes forever, and puts lots ofstrain on the gun, I usually only load 500 rubberbands, which wil give you a good 10 seconds of firing time

rubberbands to anyone who is build one of these on the same scale as mine ( 5-7 feet long), they are very strong, powerful and cheap, they come in boxes of 180, I reccommend buying at least 8-10 boxes

What did you use for the "barrel" peices. could you take more pictures of the front end?
My plan is to build one of these that is about 2 feet long, And able to be dissasembled into 3 peices: Two "barrel" halves and the Motor Portion. that and be able to have it fire around 2000 Rounds.
that and, How much tourqe does it take to fire one of these? Do i need an Uber motor or would i be safe with a motor gutted out of an old drill?
