Has anyone done this before?

When/if JSR sees this thread he should link to a thread where he shows a modification where you put the pellet in a 6mm tube with the tail ends down over a 6mm airsoft BB then push it down with a 6mm drill bit to spread the skirt on the tail.

I have tried it, you can put it in front of an air soft bullet for the best results, but there are far better fits than that, Why not try 3/8 inch brake line, I'm not sure at all, but it should be pretty close, and if not 3/8's, then likely some other size of brake line should do it...

Either I'm becoming predictable or have somehow covertly aquired minions :D

Oh with the trends you have developed, predictable is a bit of an exaggeration

I don't know about minions, but I would believe you if you told me you had devout cult followers

Yep, I'm raising an army  :D

Back on the subject, note that 0.25" pellets are just over 6mm in diameter, so if you roll them down slightly they'll fit nicely in an airsoft barrel.

You could modify a turd to fire out of an airsoft barrel, but I think he's looking to just fire .22's right out of the box, much less labour intensive.

Ahem - need I remind you of this post from a month or so back?

You predictable? I wonder when we ever see that?

Hmm - You know, I can't think of a single example.
I must have been imagining it.
Does that thing kinda look like a big cat to you?

I just knew you'd drag that up - your responses are becoming correspondingly predictable :P :D

Yes, but it's not me pretending I'm not.

I suspect the long and short of the matter is that you have predictable minions.

Since the tendency of minions is to emulate the misguided evil genius, (unaware as he is of his own hubris  ) this can easily be construed to be a logical consequence ;)

Ya i am looking for an out of the box solution, it would be a lot better for repeatability and accuracy i assume. Just got a 6mm barrel today and bb's are a good fit but i havent got the pellets to try yet.

I could just put the pellet in front of a bb every time i suppose but thats not ideal either!

don't do that, it will fail, and not be at all what you expect.

Maybe you could try brakeline, 1/4" brakeline is to small for .22's, but I would maybe try 3/8"

best woulb be to find a 4.5mm barrel for .177s or use a 5mm barrel for .20s, both work and latter has a very tight fit(5.08OD), for .22s use the skirt spreading solution.
