I was wondering whether a deodorant can can be useful as some kind of ghetto airtank to replace the plastic bottles, all you need to do is epoxy a valve into it and you're good to go.

Has anyone ever thought about this, and does anyone know what kind of pressure it can handle before blowing up.(maybe also suitable as small combustion chambers?)

Deoderant cans are cheaper, and epoxy is gonna seal a lot :P
Or at least; I hope so

I´ve got one of those. They can´t hold that much pressure, but it should be okay up to 10 bar.If the bottom starts to bulge , you know it´s time to drop the pressure.

Leuk he, 3 Nederlanders op een Amerikaans forum...En gewoon allemaal Engels blijven praten.

Staalplamuur of ànders injectie-anker, is redelijk betaalbaar.

No use explaining in English where to get materials in Holland right?

Eigenlijk moeten we ons "eigen" forum maken :P

Anyway, how much pressure would a deoderant can handle before releasing the pressure on a violent way among some shrapnel?

Don't waste your time with something like a deodorant can. The port is too small to be of any use in either a pneumatic or a combustion gun.

To make the port bigger you would have to drill and tap (or epoxy) then trust that you've got enough contact area to keep the ghetto attachment from being turned into a projectile.

That was basically the idea(drilling out the normal valve that's already in there), but imo a metal tank would be able to sustain a higher pressure then a plastic one. Still got no estimation on the pressure it would be able to handle.

Depends entirely on the propellant in the can. I believe many deodarants use lquid propane or liquid butane. For liquid propane propellant, the can would need to be rated to the same pressure as a Bernzomatic propane cylinder. I don't recall exact propane tank ratings but I believe they are rated about 500 PSIG. (At 150F, the temperature inside a car on a bright hot day, a propane tank will pressurize to about 330 PSIG.) I believe the safety release valve on a propane tank is supposed to start venting at between 360 and 480 PSI. For larger 20lb tanks the actual rupture pressure is usually above 1000 PSIG.

If the propellant is liquid CO2 then the can would have the same pressure rating as a paintball tank, or if the can has a safety release, it would probably be the same as the safety on a paintball tank.

I am 90%sure it will be liquid butane or propane or iso butanc eor a mixture of the three

4 nederlanders :D
