So many of you who have a theopian account might recall I was looking for plans of Semi-hollows. Well I decided to do it my way and make it up as I go along (So far so good

). Anywas I got some photos of it being made.
Its still not finished yet. I'm giving it some Humbuckers, Tremolo bridge, ebony finger board and custom woodgrain finish

.
Enough stalling heres some piccies.
Anyways its costin' me about a grand to make so it better be good

It looks like you're cutting out a U.S. interstate sign.
Nice, though. Are you planning to put a tension rod in that beam on the back?

A black and white interstate sign would still look awesome as a guitar body!

The number you should use would also be obvious.

Sweet project Twitch...

Are you building a Gibson 24.75" string scale length or a Fender scale length of 25.5"? The humbuckers on there make it look like you're going for Gibson. As I'm sure you know, the sounds each make are very different.
Are you building an adjustable truss rod into your neck? Your biggest challenge will be getting adjustability in the neck yet keeping its strength...AND...getting your frets positioned correctly for your string scale length. It wouldn't hurt to rehearse your fret installation on a scrap neck first.
Also, do yourself a favor and install a fully adjustable height/length bridge.
Keep us posted on your progress!!

I've indeed bought a truss rod. It measures up to 465mm Gotoh single adjustable. And yes I was going for a Gibson design and now that you mention it I might eventually paint it as a U.S. interstate sign

.
@Starman. Me being the custom guru that I am (cars, bikes, you name it) I decided on a
32 inch string length

. Im still in the process of ordering enough cash for the fingerboard. African ebony isn't overly cheap sadly. Also I was actually looking at such a bridge.
Thanks for all the info guys

. More updates are a-comin'

Wow, 32"... You're going to have gauge way up on your strings because you'll need to tighten them up a good bit more than usual to get on the right notes. You'll be right in between a short (30") and standard string scale (34") for a
bass guitar. It will indeed be a custom.... 8)
Have you figured out your fret spacing for a 32" string length?

Actually working on that now. Theres a certain way to do it. I just cant find my goddamn compass to measure the arcs. When I perfect this method Ill show you guys. And yes I realised that its practically a six string bass but hey, bass player at heart
