Wouldn't the fuel have to detonate to propel the projectile at or above the sound barrier. So wouldn't you have to use something like acetylene? And then you would encounter problems with the chamber not being able to contain the blast, and also air resistance of the projectile.

Just to clarify for everyone most commonly available fire extinguishers are "dry chemical" which are only rated to 250psi.
But you can buy co2 fire extinguishers that use unregulated co2.
