So the spud IS the burst disk? It would not work unless a spudcutter is attached to the breech.

when shot the piston thing shoots forward cutting the potato and once it's all the way through the cylindered potato shoots. theres a hole in the middle of the piston...

Then that might work. That is kinda like my "scifi" ammo/valve using strong electromagnetic radiaton to hold the ammo in place thus sealing the chamber from the barrel.

hay that is a great ider. you can use a 3x2 bell reducer as the piston to pudh the cutter and a 2 inch barrel.

I posted an idea like this a while ago, you have the barrel inside the chamber and you jam a potato halfway onto it, once the air pressure is high enough it should cut the rest of the potato and fire.

Maybe you could even leave out the piston...
Just have a slightly large patatoe sit there inside a union or something.
But Atlantis' idea sounds very good.For all kinds of guns.combustion, hybrid and pneumatic.Really simple, yet brilliant.
