Sorry if this has already been discussed, but is it possible to adjust what pressure my compressor stops at, right now it cuts out at 130 and I want 160 maybe 180.

I have a cheap husky compressor from home depot.

No idea on that compressor specifically, but most compressors do have a method to change the shut off pressure. Take off the covering and look for a regulator device, or spring switch. Do you possibly have the model number? That way I could look at manual or something.

Chances are that the machine is not made to go above those pressures. This is a hobby where we find safe ways of getting "higher pressures". Make your own pump of some sort or buy one that is rated to go that high.

I have a 10 dollar bike pump that I can get to 200 psi with a little effort. It is a schwinn from wallmart in case you are interested.

I did this with mine.
Of course your compressor is different, but it might help a bit.
